Happy MayDay Yet Again

Demarus Dye| BKD TV Insiders

For the last 5 years or so, the 1st Saturday in May has been nicknamed “MayDay as Floyd “Money” Mayweather fights opponents & keeps his undefeated record intact. This should be the best fight card in quite some time as we have some big names on the under-card like Amir Khan & Adrien Broner. May 3rd 9pm on Showtime PPV this will take place & should be a good one.

Super Middleweight Fight 10 Rounds- J’Leon Love(Stance: Orthodox, 17-0, 10 KO) vs. Marco Periban(Stance: Orthodox, 20-1-1, 13 KO)
J’Leon Love’s last 3 Fight Decisions: 5-4-13 vs. Gabriel Rosado No Contest/No Decision (Split decision for Love overturned after Love tested positive for a banned diuretic); 12-6-13 vs. Lajuan Simon W KO 6th Round; 2-28-14 vs. Vladine Biosse W TKO 10th Round
Marco Periban’s last 3 Fight Decisions: 3-16-13 vs. Samuel Miller W KO 2nd Round; 6-22-13 vs. Sakio Bika L Majority Decision; 9-12-13 vs. Badou Jack Draw Majority Decision
Love is a very talented Middleweight from Detroit & watching him this guy is good, haven’t seen much of Periban, I like Love in a KO.

Welterweight Fight 10 Rounds – Adrien Broner (Stance: Orthodox 27-1, 22 KO) vs. Carlos Molina (Stance: Orthodox, 17-1-1, 7 KO)
Adrien Broner’s last 3 Fight Decisions: 2-16-13 vs. Gavin Rees W TKO 5th Round; 6-22-13 vs. Paul Malignaggi W SD; vs. Marcos Maidana L UD
Carlos Molina’s last 3 Fight Decisions: 3-17-12 vs. Angino Perez W UD; 6-16-12 vs. Marcos Leonardo Jimenez W UD; 12-15-12 vs. Amir Khan L Referee technical decision 10th Round
Both men are coming off losses & somebody has to go in this one, Molina has not been in the ring in about 18 months, Broner will win in a SD, but Molina power’s can catch Broner if he’s not ready, just like Maidana.

Welterweight Fight 12 Rounds- Amir Khan (Stance: Orthodox,28-3, 19 KO) vs. Luis Collazo (Stance: Southpaw, 35-5, 18 KO)
Amir Khan’s last 3 Fight Decisions: 7-14-12 vs. Danny Garcia L TKO 4th Round; 12-15-12 vs. Carlos Molina W Referee technical decision 10th; 4-27-13 vs. Julio Diaz W UD
Luis Collazo last 3 Fight Decisions: 4-14-13 vs. Miguel Callist W TKO 5th Round; 9-2-13 vs. Alan Sanchez W UD; 1-10-14 vs. Victor Ortiz W KO 2nd Round
Khan wants a shot at Mayweather if he wins, but Luis Collazo is not a southpaw to play with as he took care of Victor Ortiz in January, Khan will win I think, but Collazo will put his effort in.

WBC/WBA welterweight unification Title Fight 12 Rounds- Floyd Mayweather (Stance: Orthodox, 45-0, 26 KO) vs. Marcos Maidana (Stance: Orthodox, 35-3, 31 KO)
Floyd Mayweather last 3 Fight Decisions: 5-5-12 vs. Miguel Cotto W UD; 5-4-13 vs. Robert Guerrero W UD; 9-14-13 vs. Saul Alvarez W Majority Decision
Marcos Maidana last 3 Fight Decisions: 12-12-12 vs. Angel Martinez W KO 3rd Round; 6-8-13 vs. Josesito Lopez WTKO 6th Round; 12-14-13 vs. Adrien Broner W UD

Mayweather looks like he will go 46-0, unless Maidana’s power gets to Mayweather if he can catch him, if he can catch him. I don’t see Floyd being caught at all though.
