The Angels have been hot, winning 9 out of 10 & now have a 10 1/2 game lead over the A’s with 2 weeks left in the season.

2 more weeks of the MLB season as we come down to the end & the baseball is heating up in the Good, Bad & Ugly.

The Good: LA Angels hitting over the last 7 days- The Angels have made the AL West race into a no contest as the the Angels are running away with the West, their hitting has been on top in the major leagues, mainly in the last 7 days. Stats of 67 runs, 92 hits, 14 doubles, 6 triples, 13 home runs, 61 RBI’s, .315 batting average & .921 OPS.

The Bad: Milwaukee Brewers falling out of the Wild Card Lead- The Brewers have had a very bad September, so bad that they are now looking up in the NL Wild Card race over the Giants & Pirates, as next weekend the Pirates & Brewers play a huge series & could end one teams fate along with playing the Cardinals. That series starts tonight, the Brewers in September are 5-9 so far.

The Ugly: Chris Davis 25 Game¬†suspended 25 games without pay after testing positive for amphetamines in violation of Major League Baseball’s drug program on Friday

Baltimore started play Friday leading the AL East by 10 games with 17 left in the regular season, so the team could be without the 2013 home run champion deep into the playoffs. Under the terms of the game’s drug agreement, the remaining eight games on Davis’ suspension would be applied to the postseason.

Davis, 28, released a statement of apology through the players’ association Friday morning.

“I apologize to my teammates, coaches, the Orioles organization and especially the fans,” he said. “I made a mistake by taking Adderall. I had permission to use it in the past, but do not have a therapeutic use exemption this year. I accept my punishment and will begin serving my suspension immediately.”

The suspension is another blow to an Orioles’ team that has been beset by injuries to key players. Catcher Matt Wieters is out for the season with Tommy John surgery, and third baseman Manny Machado recently underwent season-ending knee surgery.

But the O’s themselves took 3 out of 4 vs. the Yankees & now magic number to clinch is 3.
