BKD TV Presents: Darrien Coleman’s Players & Team Of Week 3

Darrien Coleman| BKD TV Insiders

From this point on I will be giving you my best players on offense and defense and the best team win for the week.

Week 3

Offensive Player of the Week: Andrew Luck 31-39 370 yards 4 TDs

Yes I know Luck played against the inept Jaguars, but Jacksonville is a divisional opponent, which means they are supposedly familiar with Luck’s tendencies. But Luck picked them apart setting a career high passer rating of 140.4 and tying a career high with four touchdowns. He averaged over nine yards a completion and led his team to a 30 point first half where he connected with nine different receivers.

Honorable mention: Kirk Cousins, Nick Foles, Rashad Jennings, Julio Jones

Defensive Player of the Week: Kyle Fuller 7 tackles, 1 INT, 2 forced fumbles

The Bears may be on to something with their rookie 1st round pick. Fuller currently leads the NFL in interceptions and is 3rd in the league in pass deflections after three weeks and has a knack for making plays early in his first season. He picked off Colin Kaepernick twice on two unbelievable plays and leads the team in solo tackles. Long time veteran Charles Tillman is out for the season with a torn triceps, but with the way Fuller is playing in his place that may be a good thing for Chicago.

Honorable mention: Jelani Jenkins, Giants secondary, Junior Galette, JJ Watt, DeAndre Levy, D’Qwell Jackson, Tamba Hali

Team win of the Week: Arizona Cardinals

Beating a divisional rival that has played in the last three NFC championships without your starting quarterback is not supposed to be done. The Cardinals didn’t get that memo. Backup QB Drew Stanton continues to play mistake free football and the Cardinals secondary is one of the best in the league. Combine that with a front seven that is playing well despite losing its best two players for the year due to injury and suspension and you have an undefeated team heading into its bye with confidence and probably a healthy Carson Palmer the next time they take the field.

Honorable mention: Detroit Lions, Seattle Seahawks
