BKD TV’s NFL Preview Series: Green Bay Packers

Aaron Rodgers is regarded in most circles as the NFL’s top QB. Last seasons MVP award recipient, Rodgers had his team in prime position for a return trip to the Super Bowl, unfortunately a botched onside kick and some crucial mistakes by his team kept that from happening. This team has to still feel the sting from that let down, it is a new season and they must reload and know they could make another run at a championship this season.

While We Were Away: The Green Bay Packers resigned their top free agent priority in Randall Cobb and now have a solid nucleus on both sides of the ball in Ha Ha Clinton Dix, Clay Matthews on defense and DeVante Adams who emerged as one of Rodgers top targets last season and Eddie Lacey who is a good young running back with some good veterans like Julius Peppers and an elite quarterback in A-Rod.

2015 Season Outlook: This team still is the class of the NFC North until another team knocks them off the mantle. Aaron Rodgers is in his prime and will be in MVP contention yet again, hopefully this season it ends for him at Levi’s Stadium for Super Bowl 50. Coach Mike McCarthy has a good system in place and he knows the bitter taste last season left in his mouth as well.

2015 Record: 10-6

The Packers division will not be a cake wake walk with the teams around them getting better as well. Having Aaron Rodgers alone will lead them to tight fourth quarter victories when they need him most and this defense can bend but not break and get stops in the nick of time. If these things hold true this team could be right back competing for another Super Bowl in a stacked NFC Conference.
