Is this Peyton Manning’s last ride? At age 39 many wonder if this is the last season we have of the greatest regular season quarterback in the NFL history in Manning, but his legacy can still be increasingly defined if he can deliver another Super Bowl before he rides off into the sunset. This team is still gonna compete in the wide open AFC and if Manning is healthy he can lead them in a variety of ways into January and even February.
While We Were Away: The Broncos have a new coach in Gary Kubiak who will bring his zone running scheme that has worked well for him in the past and take some pressure off of the 39 year old arm of Peyton Manning and run the football. Julius Thomas has moved on and in that one of Manning’s most reliable targets, the greatness of Peyton Manning is being able to use no name guys and develop them into stars much like he did with Thomas. This team was able to draft another great pass rusher in Shane Ray to pair with Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware to polish and cement this tough defense.
2015 Season Outlook: The Broncos division is not the best and having Peyton Manning with Emmanuel Sanders who emerged as a young star this past season and one of the best receivers in the league in Demaryius Thomas who can score early and often any given Sunday this offense is stacked. The Broncos are a part of the list of teams who can win a championship this upcoming year and will be an early season favorite in many circles. Having a legit running game now in C.J. Anderson can help Kubiak’s system thrive and help set up the ever dangerous play action for Peyton and his deadly receiving core all year.
2015 Record: 12-4
The Broncos are stacked and if Peyton Manning is healthy as it appears he will be, Manning will put up MVP numbers even at his advanced age. This defense is very good at putting pressure on opposing quarterbacks and can create turnovers to help Peyton and that offense thrive week in and week out. Playing against the like of Oakland twice a year does not hurt as well as and having that home field advantage known as altitude and a strong home schedule aligned with that will allow this team to be right in the mix as we head into playoff time. The overall success of this team is based on one thing and that is whether or not they win a championship. Yes they need to get back to the Super Bowl but not only getting there but winning and Peyton Manning putting his demons of playoffs past behind him. This season could be that for this team and this QB and if so it could allow Peyton to ride into the sunset a man of his class and caliber should be allowed.
