The Pittsburgh Steelers got it done last season with a new dimension, offense. The Steelers week in and week out were one of the better offensive teams in the league. Playing in the ever tough AFC North they proved to be the class of that division during the regular season. This season will be a different one as some familiar faces are gone in Steeler country.
While We Were Away: One of the best safeties in NFL history Troy Polamalu hung up his cleats and decided that his time is over in the NFL. Much like Ray Lewis in recent memory as cornerstones of great organizations it will be fun to see who will take the mantle in their secondary for the next decade. Le’Veon Bell who had an excellent season is facing a three game suspension that could be reduced to two games for substance abuse after a season that has him on the cusp of NFL greats at the running back position.
2015 Season Outlook:The Steelers have pound for pound the best player in football in Antonio Brown who had 129 receptions last season and 13 TD’s. Big Ben is still one of the greats and in winning time he elevates his game to championship level especially with his Houdini like escape tactics against defenders. The defense is young and with the drafting of Bud Dupree they are looking to rebuild their fierce pass rush after drafting Jarvis Jones last year as well. This team will be in the playoff hunt in a wide open division and AFC as a whole.
2015 Record: 9-7
This season will have ups and downs with a changing of the guard of sorts on defense. But with a prolific offense that will be healthy for the latter part of the season they could very well defend their division crown and make another playoff run into January.
