The Biggest Event in the Summer; Summerslam is in Brooklyn NY & for the 1st time in 4 years its not in Los Angeles & in 5 years that the Undertaker returns to a event in a match in his WrestleMania 30 match vs. Brock Lensar, for the 1st this year, Summerslam is 4 hours starts at 7pm EST/4pm PST on WWE Network or PPV. Also Jon Stewart will host Summerslam, we have 10 matches below that we will preview including the Title vs. Tile Match with US Champion John Cena vs. WWE WH Champion Seth Rollins.
Pre-Show: Fatal 4-Way Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship- The Prime Time Players (c) vs. The New Day vs. The Lucha Dragons vs. Los Matadores
The Tag Team Division has took at hit with Cesaro & Kidd plus the Uso’s out of action, the New Day has been a good surprise how they have got over as heels, but even the united Prime Time Players, the tag team champions has lost stream lately. mainly with them not cutting promos much. The Lucha Dragons are good, but not on the level with New Day or PTP. Los Matadores are very stale at this point in there WWE run & are just here to feel out the card. Prediction- I like the New Day to be the 2 time champs.
Triple Threat match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship- Ryback (c) vs. Big Show vs. The Miz
On May 31, Ryback won the vacant Intercontinental Championship in an Elimination Chamber match at Elimination Chamber. On the June 1 episode of Raw, Ryback was scheduled to make his first title defense against The Miz, but Big Show attacked Miz, preventing the match from occuring, and confronted Ryback. At Money in the Bank, Big Show defeated Ryback by disqualification after Miz attacked him; therefore, Ryback retained the championship. This match was suppose to take back in July @ Battleground, but IC Champ Ryback got a Staph Infection the match was called off, Ryback returned 2 weeks ago to reset this match. The Miz mic work has been good to keep this beef going & the Big Show being physical with both has helped, this match is for Ryback, mainly to show how far he has gotten. Prediction– I like Ryback to pin the Miz on retain.
Stephen Amell and Neville vs. Stardust and King Barrett
Neville & Stardust has been beef with each other back & forth with Stardust getting into a comic book like battle with Neville, King Barrett got involved 2 weeks ago when he lost to Neville in a match on Raw & help Stardust beef with Arrow(Green) star Stephen Amell which I add looked ok in the ring. Amell & Neville went to Triple H & got this match booked for Summerslam. For Barrett, this is better than his last program with R-Truth, but Stardust has done a good job with embrace the stars since he returned. Neville is the best new high flyer wrestler, but mic skills still need work. Prediction– The Arrows beat the Cosmic Kings, lol. Issue#2
Kevin Owens vs. Cesaro
Kevin Owens has a busy weekend in Brooklyn, he fights Finn Balor for the NXT Title in a Ladder Match on Saturday in NXT Takeoff Brooklyn & then this match vs. the once again pushed Cesaro. Will Owens run or will Cesaro be fooled by Owens & Fight Owens Fight. This Match could steal the show in Brooklyn. Prediction– I Like Owens to sneak a win to set up a rematch soon.
Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper
For about over a year off & on, the Wyatt Family has beefed with Dean Ambrose & Roman Reigns, while being the Shield & afterward, things came to a hear @ Battleground where Luke Harper reunited with Wyatt & beat Reigns. I wouldn’t be shocked if several things happen in this match including Sting coming out, another Wyatt Family member, but I will predict this instead. Prediction– I like the Wyatt Family to get the win after Reigns or Ambrose hit the other by accident, to slow get doubt into there partnership.
Dolph Ziggler (with Lana) vs. Rusev (with Summer Rae)
Rusev since breaking up with Lana on screen has tried to get back at her to, trying to make her apologize, to getting another women to be with him, to getting made after Lana moved on with Ziggler to crush his neck(lol) week back. On Raw this part week, Ziggler came back to start revenge on Rusev. Summer Rae & Rusev has shown better chemistry than Lana/Ziggler, but with that being said Rusev has shown is can be more than just Rusev Crush. Prediction– Lana cost Ziggler the match, which sets up a mix tag match soon.
Three Team Elimination Match– Team Bella vs. B.A.D. (Naomi, Sasha Banks and Tamina) vs. PCB (Paige,Charlotte and Becky Lynch)
The Divas Revolution got it seed planted on the June 18 episode of SmackDown, Alicia Fox allied with The Bella Twins (Brie Bella and Divas Champion Nikki Bella) by helping Brie win her match againstPaige, later naming their stable “Team Bella”. On the July 13 episode of Raw Stephanie McMahon introduced Charlotte, Becky Lynch and NXT Women’s Champion Sasha Banks made their WWE debuts; Charlotte and Lynch allied with Paige, later naming their team “PCB”, while Banks allied with Naomi and Tamina, naming their stable “Team B.A.D.” At Battleground, Charlotte defeated Brie and Banks in a Triple Threat match. On August 10, it was announced that at SummerSlam, Team Bella, PCB and Team B.A.D would compete against each other in a Three-Team Elimination match. Prediction– I like PCB Team to win this match.
Randy Orton vs. Sheamus
At Battleground, Randy Orton defeated Sheamus. But the seeds for this rematch really got going on the August 10 episode of Raw, Orton defeated WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins by disqualification after being attacked by Sheamus, therefore not winning the championship. Sheamus then attempted to cash in his Money in the Bank contract on Rollins, but was stopped by Orton. On August 17, it was announced on WWE.com that Orton would face Sheamus at SummerSlam. I do think both men would be better suited fight other opponents than each other again at this point, but Sheamus having the MITB Contract pretty much make him a protected man. Prediction– Orton got the win a month ago, I see Sheamus getting the win back at Summerslam to set up a rubber match.
Singles match for the United States Championship and WWE World Heavyweight Championship– United States Champion John Cena vs. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins
On the July 20 episode of Raw, United States Champion John Cena challenged WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins to a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match, but Rollins refused. On the July 27 episode of Raw, Cena again challenged Rollins, but The Authority instead forced him to defend the United States Championship against Rollins. Cena defeated Rollins, but sustained a broken nose during the match. On the August 3 episode of Raw, Rollins challenged Cena to a “Winner Takes All” match at SummerSlam, for both the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and the United States Championship. On the August 11 episode of Tough Enough, Cena accepted Rollins’ challenge. Cena put the pressure on Rollins saying he is carry out Triple H’s legacy still & that on Sunday, Cena would make Rollins his b****. Now as warm & fussy Cena being a 16 Time Champ would be, I don’t think this is the time yet to do that yet, but there is a way that neither champ lose the title. Prediction– Rollins by DQ, I see interference by someone, ummmm
Brock Lesnar (with Paul Heyman) vs. The Undertaker
At WrestleMania XXX in 2014, Brock Lesnar defeated The Undertaker to break his undefeated WrestleMania streak. Four months later, Lesnar defeated John Cena at SummerSlam to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, but lost it the following year at WrestleMania 31 in his match against Roman Reigns when Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank contract and won the championship. Lesnar received his rematch against Rollins at Battleground, and was closing in on the win when The Undertaker returned and attacked Lesnar, causing the match to end in an inconclusive finish due to Rollins and the referee disappearing from the ring. This was initially reported as a “no contest”, but the following night on the July 20 episode of Raw, Lilian Garcia announced Lesnar as the winner by disqualification. Also on the same night, it was announced that Undertaker would face Lesnar in the main event of SummerSlam. This will be Undertaker’s first SummerSlam match since 2008, and his first pay-per-view match outside of WrestleMania since Bragging Rights in 2010. I think this match can go 2 ways, either Lensar wins & this could set up a 3rd & final match at Mania that the Undertaker would feel if he didn’t beat Lensar than he would retire or Undertaker wins & both men set up different programs later this year into next year. Prediction– Undertaker wins with some help from Kane.
Overall I do think the WWE has done a good job of build up this year’s Summerslam, I would say this is the best build in 10 years for the event, I’ll be back with the review of Summerslam on Tuesday. Also in the poster below will be the NXT Takeover: Brooklyn Card, Enjoy both Events everybody.
