After previewing the Big 12 and ACC, today comes the preview and predictions for the BIG 10. Reigning national champion The Ohio State Buckeyes bring back Cardale Jones and JT Barrett at the quarterback position. Of course, Jim Harbaugh is now the head coach at rival Michigan and Michigan State returns their starting quarterback, Conner Cook. The BIG 10 is on the rise and could be coming to a top confrence much quicker than we anticipated.
Favorite: Ohio State
Pretty obvious choice here. Ohio State is loaded again and looks like the best and deepest roster in all of college football. With the quarterback position up in the air, most teams would be in trouble. However, Ohio State has three quarterbacks capable of winning the Heisman. The position is so packed, former starter Braxton Miller is playing wide receiver this season. Ezekiel Elliot looks to be another Heisman candidate for the Buckeyes and we haven’t mentioned Urban Meyer, arguably the best coach in the country. There’s a lot to love about the potential for the Buckeyes 2015 season.
Team to Watch: Michigan
Another obvious choice here and an obvious reason why. Everywhere Jim Harbaugh has been, he’s been successful and successful quick. How quick can he return Michigan to being among the country’s elite? I expect Michigan to improve at two things this season: quarterback play and defense. Harbaugh will instill a toughness and attitude back to this program and I expect Michigan to be very competitive, even in the Ohio State game.
Player to Watch: Corey Clement, RB Wisconsin
Following in the footsteps of Melvin Gordon is tough enough. Following Melvin Gordon and Montee Ball, the all-time touchdown leader in NCAA history is what Corey Clement faces. However, Wisconsin always brings an old-school mindset to the table. They want to run the ball and play physical defense. Their tough and big up front and will rely on Corey Clement to carry the rock and take them back to the BIG 10 title game.
